Thank you for your interest in finding wellness for yourself or a loved one. My name is Julia Pickett. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in both Kentucky and Indiana and I am the owner of FindWell Counseling, LLC. My practice is currently completely virtual (telehealth), which allows me to to take referrals and support individuals located anywhere in Indiana and Kentucky. I started FindWell Counseling in 2021 in New Albany, Indiana and my virtual office in based in Bloomington, Indiana.
Populations Served
I support adults seeking help with feelings of overwhelm, intrusive or unwanted thoughts, repetitive behaviors, anxious or negative thoughts, worry, fear, self-doubt, perfectionism. Disorders I work with include Social Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (hair pulling, skin picking, etc). I have a special interest in working with individuals who have co-morbid ADHD & OCD. I also help individuals work through significant changes and life transitions (career changes, relationship challenges, death/grief), process specific trauma events (car accidents, medical procedures, etc.).
Treatment Approach
To support growth and change, I use a person-centered approach founded on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. From this foundation I draw from various evidence-based techniques and theories such as Polyvagal Theory, Attachment theories, Mindful Self-Compassion, Motivational Interviewing, Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), Inference-based CBT for OCD (I-CBT), Written Exposure Therapy (WET) and Comprehensive Behavioral Model (ComB) for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (hair pulling skin picking, etc). I am also trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions). I am LGBTQ+ allied.

Other Services
Groups
In 2023 I added several support groups for adults living with OCD as a way of expanding accessibility and helping my clients benefit from peer support. Please read here about current group offerings.
Support for Clinicians with OCD
In 2022 I started my first support group for clinicians with OCD. This led to several types of specialized support for clinicians: several ongoing support groups for clinicians with OCD as well as a guided experiential learning group for clinicians to learn I-CBT treatment by focusing on their own symptoms.
